Where the Money Goes!

The funds raised at NAMIWalk SF Bay Area go to work in your community, underwriting free NAMI mental health programs including Family to Family, Peer to Peer and In Our Own Voice. The dollars are used to train our facilitators, pay for class materials and fund newsletters and anti-stigma campaigns throughout the Bay Area.
Our National organization receives 10% of the net proceeds. The balance is distributed among the seven Bay Area NAMI affiliates that work together to produce the event. They share in the proceeds with each taking a percentage according to their participation.
Each affiliate is free to allocate their portion of the proceeds where their community need is the greatest.
In this challenging economy, it is more important than ever to feel that the money we donate is put to good use. The Bay Area NAMI community is committed to being trusted stewards of the funds donated through the venue of NAMIWalk.
Since our first NAMIWalk in 2005, we have raised over $1 million dollars. We are deeply grateful to our walkers, team captains, sponsors and the entire Bay Area Mental Health community for their continued support.
